Wine Region : Bordeaux (France), France (France)

Bottle Per Case : 12 x 750 ml

Intense violet colour. Cassis, blackberry and violets on the nose. Supple mouthfeel with silky, polished tannins. Cassis and dark fruit on the palate with a pleasant touch of spice on the finish. This is delicious and already accessible.

One of the the really nice things about the Les Hauts de Bel Air is how accessible it is. Bordeaux often takes a long time to be ready to drink, but this is drinking wonderfully right now. This little blend of Cab Sauv and Merlot is extremely hard to resist. No wonder we can’t keep it in stock. Every time this wine arrives it sells through. Don’t fret, there is more coming behind it, so if you are a little slow on the ball here, you can reserve a case from the next PO.

Nobody has been able to duplicate that special sauce they have in Bordeaux. How do they make both the world’s most expensive and revered wines while also making these delicious little treats with tiny little price tags? Nobody knows, because if they did, they would certainly do all they could do duplicate it and no wine region in the world has ever come close to being able to duplicate what Bordeaux has to offer.

It’s true. Bordeaux wines are not everyones cup of tea. There are great wine regions all around the world. Sometimes we are informed about wines in the warehouse we were unaware we had. We have been lucky and had 2 such occurrences lately both of which are delicious little wines, and both with very low price tags.

The 1st is the 2014 Primitivo Salento from Tente di Emera. True, there are only 4 cases, so you will have to act fast, but this is a wine you absolutely want to have at the cottage. Yes, i am already getting excited about cottage season. I know, its cold and miserable, but sooner than later, we will be making trips to the cottage. Don’t worry, this is a wine that will drink well at home too!

Spring is coming. Personally, i enjoy white wines all year long and consume much more white wine than i do red. With that said, when spring comes most people tend to move to white wines as well as Rose. Antinori’s Bianco IGT Toscana delivers a lot more than one might expect at the very modest price point of $14.95/bottle. This is a great wine to have around at all times and is a near necessity in the spring.

As those of you that read these emails are already aware, i will be travelling with our team through the wine country of Europe over the next couple of weeks. We will be searching the wine country of Italy, Austria, Germany and France for the gems, as well as the diamonds in the rough. We have dozens of tastings with producers scheduled and we will continue to report back with our good findings.

As always, should you have any questions or comments, we will do all we can to answer you in a timely fashion. Simply reply to this email, or call the office at 877-714-WINE, (9463). We look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day!
