1st Day of Spring. Spain’s “Best Value White Wine”. A Match Made in Heaven. $14.95/Bottle. 2015 Lopez de Haro Rioja Blanco.
When the Wines of Spain gives out the award’s Best Value White and Red wines, you should take note. This implies ridiculous value.

Between the winemaking genius of Raul Acha and the design and financial savvy of the guys over at Vintae, we get absolutely amazingly fabulous wines and especially the Lopez de Haro Rioja Blanco. I have never tasted a white wine this good at this low a price, and frankly, i am not sure i expect to taste one again.
IT’S THE 1ST DAY OF SPRING. WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE THAN TO ORDER SOME DELICIOUS WHITE WINE, (ROSÉ TOO).
We reserved all of the 2015 Lopez Blanco that they would give us. We are down to the last 100 cases. As with the 2010 Lopez Red last week, we expect them to go very fast, so in order to avoid disappointment, you might want to order in a timely fashion.
We know that there are many white wine lovers that believe that if it is not Chardonnay from California, it is not worth drinking. We respect that. Many of you have been pining for the Ryder Chardonnay as it was out of stock for a good long while. This is as good a value as i have tasted out of California.
We met with the lovely people at Scheid, (the producers of Ryder wines among others), yesterday at Prowein and tasted through their wines. You will be glad to know that we found some gems. Don’t fret, we will tell you all about them upon arrival, but in the meantime, you can’t go wrong with the 2014 Ryder Chardonnay.
Alright, alright, we know Springtime means Rosé. Rosé seems to be the hottest thing going in the wine business at the moment. At Prowein, this was incredibly apparent. Every 2nd conversation seemed to be about how Rosé was blowing up and nobody made enough to satisfy demand. We have a lot on the way, but right now we have Domaine de Cristia’s Provence Rosé in stock. This has long been a client favourite and well it should be. Not having a case of Rosé around in the Springtime is nigh on sacrilegious and should not be done.
If you would like an update on our travels, we have left Prowein and are headed towards Burgundy. We have some amazing tastings scheduled for today including Bachelet Monnot. We will let you know how the 15’s and 16’s are shaping up as they are both supposed to be incredible vintages. You might remember from over the weekend that we currently have some of their 2014 village white wines in stock. Click here to view the wines from Bachelet Monnot.
It’s is supposed to be beautiful in Southern Ontario today. Get out there and enjoy it.
Have a great day and a wonderful Spring!
