Biutiful Rose Cava. "Great Value", 90 Points. $16.95/Bottle. Likely the Best Value Bubbly in Ontario.

If you like pink bubbly, this is a must have. I have never tasted Rose this good at this price.

“Brilliant pink. Intense red berry and tangerine scents show very good clarity and a suave floral note that builds in the glass. Silky, seamless and broad on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and blood orange flavors underscored by a smoky mineral nuance. Finishes sappy and quite long, featuring echoing red fruit character and a touch of candied rose. I really like the interplay of power and finesse here.”

I can only assume that there are plenty of you that thought i did not know how to spell the word beautiful. In this case, Biutiful, is the brand, but boy does it fit the product well. Sometimes i am just blown away by the quality offered up at such low prices. When i tasted this wine, the 1st word out of my mouth was, “WOW”, the next words were, “how much can we reserve?” Isaac Fernandez is a winemaking genius.

For those not aware, Cava is produced in the method Champenoise, which essentially means that the wine goes through a 2nd fermentation which is what creates the bubbles. This process on its own takes time, effort and money, never mind the cost of the grapes and all the rest of it. I guess what i am trying to say here is that this Cava has no business being priced at $16.95/bottle.

The Biutiful Cava is produced with 100% Grenache grapes. My gut tells me that this will sell really fast. This is going to be one of the ones where you wished you purchased more.

Are you a traditional, (no bubbles), Rose drinker? Rose is the world’s hottest wine colour at the moment. All of our producers have basically said to us, reserve now as Rose is flying out the door. Luckily, our suppliers like us and have agreed in most cases to reserve plenty of wine for us. Judging by the weather today, Summer is not far off. You likely want to ensure you have plenty of the right wines around.

The 2016 Cotes de Provence Rose has landed and the release is imminent. This is always a client favourite and well it should be. The perfect salmon colour, with a perfect blend of spice and fruit. This wine always disappears quickly.

It is hard to resist a 98 point Pinot Noir Rose under $25/bottle. Well, that is the score on the Gifft Rose produced over there at Scheid. Yeah, the PO that is arriving now is sold out, but we have plenty more on the way and our expectation is that this is a wine that people will continue to go gaga over all summer long. And, for people such as myself, the rest of the year as well.
