“The colour is very deep purple/red. The aromas very focused and intense, precise and super-ripe. It’s a colossal wine, with great fruit sweetness and density, and seemingly high alcohol. A spectacular wine, which some may find a bit ‘over the top’. But it’s not jammy or dead-fruited. An impressive wine for those who love big reds.”

If you love big red wine that with pedigree and maintains an exceptional level of elegance, the 2010 Grand Puy Ducasse is just the wine for you. This is the wine you pull out when you want everyone around you to get really excited. There is a whole lot of flavour in this puppy and it is coming in to its drinking wheelhouse.

Those of you that know me well enough to know my preferred wine style, or perhaps you read between the lines of these emails will know that my preference is a lighter style, but i have to tell you, the 2010 Grand Puy Ducasse is extremely alluring. I have already ordered a case for myself.

As those of you that keep up to date with vintages in Bordeaux undoubtedly know, 2010 was a superb vintage. Most would agree that you will have to wait until the 2015’s start to come to market in order to find wines that measure up in terms of quality and longevity. Frankly, it will be nice to have some of the 2010 kicking around while waiting for the 2015’s to be ready to drink.

The Grand Puy Ducasse is en route, but still a ways off. However, we have some really nice choices that have already landed in Canada and releases are imminent. We have already offered the 2012 Noillac, but there are still some cases remaining. At $25 bottle, this wine is nothing less than a steal.

The 2000 Charles de Sarpe just landed. Many of you have tried the Clos de Sarpe. The Charles de Sarpe is drinking perfectly now. If you are interested in St Emilion from an epic vintage, here it is. When i tried this, i got really excited.
