Ripe, with cocoa-accented sun-dried blackberry, plum skin and black currant flavors slowly opening up to show layers of vanilla, ash and peppercorn. The fine tannins are well-integrated, with fruit and spice notes lingering on the long finish.

Our apologies for 2 emails in 1 day, but we get harassed about this wine in particular early and often. Now that it has been released, we thought we better let everyone know. Yes, this is amazing Taurasi Riserva and it is in its drinking wheelhouse. Taurasi has been on everyone’s lips lately. They are calling it the Barolo of the South. It has the aging potential and depth of Barolo, but these wines appeal to those of us that love a full bodied wine. I brought a magnum of this wine to a friend’s 45th birthday party the other night. People got pretty darn excited, (to say the least). I nigh on received a standing ovation.

I am often asked what and where my favourite wine regions are. This is nearly an impossible question to answer, as it really depends on your state of mind, but the wine regions South of Rome in Italy, and especially those in Campania, are hard to beat. Not only are the wines awesome, especially the ones from Molettieri, but the food is off the hook and the scenery is spectacular.

Well, if you are in to the Taurasi Riserva, you are likely a fan of great wine in general. We had another treat released today. The 2014 Chateau de Landiras Graves Rouge may very well have been the wine of the vintage in Bordeaux. It is certainly the wine of the vintage under $50/bottle. We have brought in 100’s of cases of this wine and they keep getting snapped with an awful lot of repeat business occurring.

It is mostly gone, but we received notice that the 2011 Terre di Lavoro has landed in Canada. If you want any of this iconic wine, i suggest you order it now as it will likely be completely gone by the time it is released.

All of the wines we are speaking about today are terroir driven wines. If you are curious about what the word terroir really means, have a gander at our video down below where we have done our best job to explain it.
