2010 Bordeaux! Chateau Pierbone’s Haut Medoc. $39.95/Bottle. Serious Wine. Drinking Perfectly Now. The Perfect Father’s Day Gift?
|
We have been doing some En Primeur Bordeaux offers lately. These are typically great values, but you are going to have to wait a long time before you receive the wine and even longer until that wine is drinking in its prime. The 2010 Pierbone Haut Medoc has arrived and certainly represents both an amazing vintage and amazing value. Though you can age this wine further, the wine is drinking beautifully right now. We brought all they had which was not much, so if you want some you will likely need to act fast.
For those of you waiting on this wine, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you. Your cases will be shipped on release.
You can taste and taste wine after wine, but it is nigh on impossible to find wines that taste like a good Bordeaux drinking in its prime. It is no accident that the best Bordeaux wines are more often than not, the world’s most acclaimed and sought after. To sum up, you are going to have a great wine drinking experience each and every time you pull a cork from a bottle of the 2010 Pierbone. At $39.95/bottle, this wine represents some serious value.
A COUPLE OF NOTES ON THE 2010 VINTAGE BELOW
2010 98 Hold
A superb vintage of wines with off-the-charts dry extract, high tannin and elevated acidity, the 2010s are likely to age at glacial pace. The 2010s are the polar opposite of the 2009s, and will appeal most to readers with classically-leaning palates. Some wines show the effects of the very dry summer in their tannin profiles, but overall, this is a vintage of stunning, ageworthy wines.
VINOUS MEDIA
2010 | 99 | Hold | Ripe and powerful, with racy tannins and acidity for balance. More structure-driven than the opulent 2009, with better definition of fruit; should be very long-lived |

The 2016 Pontet Canet En Primeur offer was given to us this morning. It is priced higher than it has been in recent vintages, but the ratings are through the roof. The people i know that have tasted it, (i haven’t yet), have suggested it is similar to their iconic releases of 2009 and 2010. We have exactly 20 x 6-packs available to us.
Looking for more delicious Bordeaux that is in stock? The Chateau Landiras is here. Surprisingly, it did not sell out on release. This was one of the best wines to come out of the 2014 vintage and the price is right. Be one of the lucky ones to get one of the last cases.
It’s Friday. Wishing everyone a great weekend.
