“The 2015 Rheingau Riesling Trocken Kostheim Weiss Erd VDP Grosse Lage opens with a clear, bright and deep, citrus-flavored bouquet with limestone flavors. Full-bodied, intense and piquant on the palate, this is a rich, round and silky textured, very elegant, dry Riesling. The wine is in balance, and has a long and expressive finish. There is mouthwatering salinity in the finish, but also a still somewhat stringent grip. Keep this excellent cru for a year or two before you start enjoying it for ten years.”

It was not too long ago that German wine was thought to be the best wine producing country in the world and certainly the producer of the best white wines in the world. You only have to go and look at an old Berry Brothers and Rudd price list to see that German wines were priced higher than those from Bordeaux, or anywhere else in France for that matter. The Kunstler family has been producing some of the best wines to come out of Germany for nearly 900 years.
