Making wine is an art. As with art, there is no right or wrong when it comes to whether you like a wine, it is just a matter of taste. The thing with Bordeaux is that it likely has the widest appeal of any one wine region. It is hard to say exactly what it is, but Bordeaux has the secret sauce. As the French would say, they have a certain, “je ne sais quoi” about the wines that makes one feel a certain way. Most often that they are drinking the wine they want to be drinking.

When we tried the 2012 Noaillac, we got super excited. Not only is this wine delicious, but it has enough age on it now, that you do not feel like it is being opened too young. This wine is a no brainer for anyone that loves Bordeaux, but does not want to break the bank enjoying it.

There was a time when blends were thought to be inferior wines, and few wines were marketed as blends. For example, almost all Bordeaux wine is blended and all of the 1st Growths certainly are, but they are not marked as such on the bottles. The Noaillac is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
