Father’s Day Wine Gifts

It’s decided: for Father’s Day, you’ll be offering wine to your dad. The idea is great, but not so easy to achieve. Here are some selections boost to find the wine that will perfectly match your dad!

Daddy cool

He is always at the forefront of fashion, eager for novelties with a penchant for bargains! The wines he loves should be attractive first and foremost. His saying: “It must be beautiful for it to be good!”

Our selection : Pinotage Touch of Oak by Rijk’s 2014

Pinotage is South Africa’s signature red wine grape. A gutsy cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault rarely found anywhere else in the world, Pinotage is a one-of-a-kind rustic red wine that is earthy, fruit-driven and perfect for pairing with all sorts of barbecue. So if you dad loves barbecue, it could be a good deal too!

Every time we taste this wine, we are more impressed. The terroir is special. Cool nights, warm days and a constant breeze ensure that there is the perfect amount of acidity. Pierre, the winemaker has studied all over the world and is supremely talented.

Ecolo Dad

He cares about the planet and the environment, but above all about the quality of his wine. Thus, sulphites and pesticides are his enemies and he has a (very) great preference for organic wine. His saying: “Good wine is first and foremost to nature. “

Our selection : Vranac Pro Corde by Plantaze 2015

This Balkan country – with its rugged mountains, medieval villages, and beautiful Adriatic beaches – is the birthplace of Vranac. Among all the incredible wineries in the land of wines, Plantaze is the perhaps the best known.

The Pro Corde (For Heart) is produced only in good vintages and in small quantities. Deep red, blackberry and supple cherry notes dominate the nose, bursting into a pleasurable harmonious experience on the palate.

Wine expert Dad

The connoisseur is expert in the matter: he knows the wine regions, their grape varieties and their particularities. He is unmistakable on this subject and his knowledge led him to appreciate the great names and large estates. His saying: “Wine is a self-respecting art. ”

Our selection : Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée by Domaine du Pegau 2013

Chateauneuf du Pape is a sure value of a connoisseur and lover of traditional wine. And this Cuvee Reserve from Domaine de Pegau is THE reference point for Southern Rhone wines.

We’re not going to include a lot of our opinions here as the critics pretty much say it all when it comes to Domaine du Pegau. Of all the wines from the South Rhone in our cellar, Pegau has the most space.

“These are some of my favourite wines in the world, and also some of my favourite visits, largely because of the charismatic Feraud family, from the daughter Laurence to the father Paul…” – Robert Parker

As Parker states above, there is no compromises when it comes to quality at Domaine du Pegau. They have a distinct style and they do not deviate. If you have had these wines in the past you are already aware that these are wines of stature and quality. With this wine, you will make a man definitely happy!

Or the ultimate accessorize : Coravin

With the Coravin Wine Preservation System, you can enjoy a sip, a glass, or more from any bottle and save the rest for weeks, months, or even years!

Rock’N’Roll Daddy

Dad Rock swears by red wine with a penchant for powerful wines, “which have body” as he says so well. He often listens to his favorite records with a glass of wine in his hand! His saying: “French rock … it’s a bit like English wine! “

Our selection : Passo del Sud Zinfandel by Tagaro 2017

This wine hails from Puglia deep in southern Italy, one of the most interesting up and coming wine regions in the country. This area is famous for making full-bodied rich and powerful red wines at unbelievably reasonable prices.

Deep red with ruby reflections. Intense and fruity with well-balanced notes of jam and spice. Full, soft and long on the palate.

Not surprisingly, our enthusiasm over this wine was shared by Luca Maroni, one of Italy’s premier wine critics, who gave it a rating of 94 points.
