Spanish Wines

Hacienda Lopez de Haro Rioja Blanco by Bodega Classica 2018

100% Viura from 50-80 year-old vines near San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja Alta and aged for 3 months in French oak barrels. White fruit and flowers on the nose, following through on the palate with riper fruit, good stucture, freshness and complexity. Long, pleasant finish. This wine is a steal!

Campo Arriba Old Vines by Señorío de Barahonda 2017

“Aromas of blood oranges, cedary and spicy oak and pomegranate with bright red cherries. The palate has a core of fleshy dark berries with sweet oak spices and supple tannins wrapping it all up. A blend of monastrell, syrah and tintorera.”

Italian Wines

Pinot Grigio Terre di Chieti by Fontamara 2018

The wine is full, round and rich, with great minerality and intense flavours. Lush aromas of orange blossoms and honey with apricot, apple and spice on the rich, full palate. Great minerality, great acidity.

Barolo Tettimorra DOCG by Scarpa 1987

Direct from the Scarpa’s cellar. Splendid garnet red. Refined bouquet of violets, dried rose petals and liquorice, tobacco and balsamic notes with hints of clove that follow through on the palate. Great structure, very long finish.

French Wines

Ventoux Rouge by Domaine de Cristia 2017

The Domaine de Cristia Ventoux 2017 is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. While the vineyards are situated in the southern Rhône Valley, the altitude and cooler temperatures of Mont Ventoux lend the terroir more northern characteristics of texture and finesse. It’s a yin and yang type of Rhone wine, with pretty aromatics, lower alcohol content, and plenty of power on the palate. Fans of Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape should take a look at this outstanding value!

Plan Pegau by Domaine du Pegau N/V

Crafted by Laurence Féraud of Domaine du Pegau, Plan Pegau has loads of character and personality, and offers a true and loud echo of the flavour and style of Domaine du Pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape. An approachable, medium bodied wine with loads of cherry fruit, light peppery notes and a touch of Châteauneuf funk. Enjoy with game, hearty stews, and grilled meats.

Sketches of Niagara Riesling VQA by Tawse Winery 2016 (SAVE $84/CASE)

“This remains one of the great values in Niagara riesling. It’s very bright with impeccable acid-sugar balance, and so lively. From this warmer vintage expect more petrol than normal, plus ripe apricot and candied pineapple fruit and lemon. Fine balance here, with a touch of spritz, with excellent length. A great summer sipping style.”

Cuvée Auberge Saint-Gabriel Gamay Noir VQA by Tawse Winery 2016 (SAVE $84/CASE)

This Gamay was crafted from hand-harvested fruit from select Niagara Peninsula vineyards. Aged for 8 months in 20% new oak, this wine has notes of black cherry, dried herbs, peppercorns and a touch of toast. These aromas are followed by blackberry, liquorice and smooth tannins on the palate. One of the most versatile reds, Gamay is very approachable and expressive without being overpowering.
