But what they experienced with Berrouet changed the approach for all their wines, including the whites, which are seeing a complete transformation. TASTING NOTE / “The unbottled 2018 Pepe Yllera now has some Cabernet Sauvignon blended with a majority of Tempranillo that matured in a mixture of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels and tinajas (amphorae) for around six months. This is completely different from the wines from before 2016; it’s clean, floral and elegant, with integrated oak and very good freshness. This is still an approachable and highly drinkable red with a harmonious palate and clean, bright flavors. It showcases Yllera’s transformation.
