FEATURED WINES

BORDEAUX, FRANCE

LUNE D’ARGENT 2020 BY CLOS DES LUNES

Lune D’Argent 2020 by Clos Des Lunes is a ridiculous value from one of France’s most respected and admired producers of white wine. It packs drinking pleasure per penny unmatched anywhere – and is ideally suited to pairing with rich and full-flavoured winter fare.

Domaine de Chevalier is arguably Bordeaux’s top producer of white wine. The top whites from this exalted member of French vinous royalty sell for hundreds of dollars per bottle. This new creation from the same family offers a glimpse into the magic of Pessac whites for pennies on the dollar.

If you love bone dry mineral driven white wine, with unending complexity in the glass, this wine is for you. This is a Sauvignon Blanc blend that is richly layered, bone dry and floral with crystalline white peach and citrus fruit that is stunning now, and will age effortlessly in your cellar over the next 5 years.

It’s nothing short of thrilling to find a wine that is precise, complex, and cellarable, from a producer that has over 8 centuries of viticultural artistry under their belts, all for under 35 bucks!

A LITTLE HISTORY

There are many reasons that Bordeaux is the world’s most famous wine region, but the most important is, they make fantastic wines and the whites are no exception. Bordeaux Blanc, when done well, epitomizes what most of us are looking for in a great bottle of wine.

The Domaine has a long history dating all the way back to the 1155 and continues to be family run estate, owned by the Bernard family. Located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation which ranked among the Crus Classés for red and white wine in the Classification of Graves, it’s one of a very few Bordeaux estates to be named “Domaine” instead of “Château”.
