As I write this I’m daydreaming about being on an Italian beach—or, even better, a yacht moored somewhere off Amalfi Coast—sipping on something delicious and refreshing without a care in the world. Obviously, the closest I’m going to get to that these days is a fresh & crisp white, and we’ve got a great one today from Salvalai, who’s been at the wine game since the 1800’s!

The most famous region for Pinot Grigio is Veneto and even more so between Verona and Lake Garda. Cantine Salvalai has been producing wines there since 1870 and is definitely one of the reasons Pinot Grigio has become the go to white wine in much of the world today. It’s just the kind of wine (and price) we need right now. It’ll make a perfect patio white.

Pair with antipasti, especially seafood and vegetable-based ones like seafood salad or marinated fish like octopus. Fried fish or vegetables such as fritto misto or even fish, light pastas and clams would do the trick as well!

TASTING NOTE / Bright straw yellow colour. Fresh and delicate on the nose, characterized by a subtle elegant floral nuance followed by hints of apples and distinctive vegetal notes. Dry and medium-bodied, the palate faithfully reflects the nose.
