I could keep going, too—this wine’s grace and detail really took my breath away, and had me dreaming for a return to the crazily steep, slate hillsides from where it is grown.

The terroir in Priorat is close to crazy. You have to be a bit maniacal, not to mention dedicated, to plant vineyards on rocky steep slopes such as what are typical in Priorat. A winemakers dream. The hills are steep with plenty of mineral in the soil, the day’s are hot, the nights are cool and there is more often than not, a breeze coming off the Mediterranean. If you add some winemaking talent and stir, you will have some special wines.

Ferrer Bobet is a prestigious winery with a spectacular location, churning out critically beloved wines. Beautiful fruit balanced out with wonderful minerality and nice long tannins.
