Pinot Gris Willamette Valley 2021 hails from Oregon which has plenty in common with Burgundy. The midpoint of the Willamette Valley lies at 45 degrees north latitude, the same as for Burgundy’s Cote d’Or. Oregon wineries have typically been small, family-owned affairs, just like in Burgundy.

There are a lot of delicious whites coming out of Oregon. Well-made Pinot Gris is simply irresistible and there is no better match for a piece of chicken or fish than the right glass of Pinot Gris.

When we tasted Predhommes’s new vintage a few weeks ago, it became abundantly clear that Willamette Valley’s exquisite Pinot Gris’ need to be given their proper recognition and due!

There are innumerable combinations of grape and place in the vast world of wine, and while we strive to give them all a platform, some deserve to be recurring characters. When we tasted Predhommes’s new vintage a few weeks ago, it became abundantly clear that Willamette Valley’s exquisite Pinot Gris’ need to be given their proper recognition and due! A small number of producers in Oregon are reaching the levels of depth and complexity found in this bottle.

It’s zesty and fresh, and pairs amazingly with sushi, ceviche and even richer meals like fish and chips! It is also beautiful with turkey, pork and fall soups.

TASTING NOTE / Brilliant straw colour with youthful yet intense aromas of white peach, stone fruit, green apple and citrus. Bright acidity and freshness on the palate with a round mouthfeel but it stays surprisingly refreshing. Distinctly Oregonian; a clean, fresh style of Pinot Gris.

This is a project between Toronto Sommelier and entrepreneur Will Predhomme and Ontario wine importer Nicholas Pearce they have partnered with Radford Dale in South Africa and NorthWest Wine Co in Oregon to create these special cuvées.
