Sancerre Origine by Matthias et Emile Roblin 2019: Characteristics
Sancerre is the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc in Europe — crisp and fruity, with racy acidity. The soil is composed of limestone and fossilized seashells, which gives the wine an unmistakable minerality. Expressive on the nose, combining floral fragrances with aromas of white peach and exotic fruit (pineapple, passion fruit). Well-balanced and honest on entry, the wine is underpinned by freshness and powerful, long-lasting acidity on the finish, revealing a lovely minerality.
The bright pale yellow gold colour opens with an expressive and pleasant nose which combines the scents of exotic fruits (mango, passion) with those of white fruits (peach). The mouth with a fresh attack offers a fleshy substance, roundness, balance, as well as very fruity aromas (pineapple, lychee) which persist in a long and elegant finish. Very beautiful white Sancerre.
