The story of Chateau Gemeillan is really intertwined with a love story about Adrien Uittewaal, a Dutch farmer and his young wife Fabienne, who decided the Médoc was the perfect place to lay down roots and begin their life together. On the rolling fertile meadows of this newly acquired property, they began raising cattle. On the shallow gravel soils, they planted grapes – and since their first harvest in 1995, this estate has been widely recognized for its consistent quality and dedication to sustainable agriculture and stewardship of their land.
