Straw yellow coloured and very bright. Coming from the various plots of vines with an average age of 80 years, the Blanco is pure driving fruit with an abundance of minerality. Aromas of white flowers, fennel, small season stone fruits, litchis, peach notes, balsamic and spring water. Tasty, fresh, unctuous and structured. Exotic fruits scents, grapefruit, fresh herbs, mint and a perfectly integrated acidity and a very long finish. Tremendous energy without being heavy or burdensome.

The namesake wine of the Casal de Arman is a wine for lovers of wine with depth and complexity. The wine is layered and the length is outstanding. To be honest, i am not even sure of the aging potential of this wine as it drinks so well young, that these wines have never made it past a few years in the cellar. My guess however, is that would excel over the next 5 – 10 years.

You may remember that we were just on a little trip through Spain. Galicia is up there in the Northwest corner of the country. This is a stunningly beautiful part of the world and the Casal de Arman winery is no exception. The air is always fresh as there is always a breeze coming over the hills from the Atlantic making for near perfect grape growing conditions. For some reason, the little piece of heaven has remained largely undiscovered by the wine tourist. Let me say this, if you are ever close, it is worth the trip.

When we say we love white wine, we do not mean that we love every white wine. There are all sorts of different white wines available in the world and some are much better than others. Some are refreshing, some are best with food, some are complex and have all sorts of depth, and then, there are some that possess all of these qualities. The Casal de Arman Ribeiro is the latter.

It’s Rose season. Perhaps that is slightly wishful thinking, but sooner or later it will be warm and beautiful. If you stay up to date with the trends in the world of wine, you will know that Rose is the hottest thing going at the moment, and that is not just because it is Spring. It seems as though people have finally caught on to just how delicious Rose can be. Well made Rose is great with food, great on its own, and just downright refreshing. Well made Rose always leaves you craving another sip, or more to the point, another glass. The Cuvee Marie Justine Rose has been the client favourite Rose going back a number of years. Absolutely perfect for spring and summer fare and fabulous on its own.

As per usual, those that read to the bottom get a little treat. Domaine de Cristia’s Cotes du Ventoux is just downright great value. If history is indicative of what will happen going forward, once we feature this wine, it will sell extremely quickly, (likely in hours). Those of you that read this far down get 1st dips.

We know many of you tend to go through a lot of wine over the Easter long weekend. Big dinners with family and friends tend to help with that. It might to do some replenishing.

Have a great day everyone!
